Barnett Care Homes
We aim to provide a quality service for the individuals who access our provision, in a safe, healthy, relaxed and encouraging environment. We aim to underpin all of our knowledge and practice on the theory of John O Brien’s 5 Service accomplishments (1992) and the Wheel of Wellbeing.
John O’Brien’s 5 Service Accomplishments (1992)
The right to take part in community life and to live and spend leisure time with other members of the community.
The right to experience valued relationships with non-disabled people.
The right to make choices, both large and small, in one’s life. These include choices about where to live and with whom to live.
The right to learn new skill and participate in meaningful activities with whatever assistance is required.
The right to be valued and not treated as a second-class citizen
Wheel of Wellbeing
We will use these to continually review our practice, to continually train and develop our staff team, review and implement all relevant legislation and liaise with all relevant multi-disciplinary professionals, parents, advocates and friends.
